Are you ready for something saucy, cheesy, and delicious? This Italian Gnocchi Casserole is a lovely, easy casserole recipe that fits the bill. Ground beef and pork are browned and then combined with onion, tomatoes, Italian seasoning, and potato gnocchi for a delicious casserole filling. Fresh mozzarella cheese slices top the casserole, and then everything bakes in the oven until warm and gooey. The textures in this meal are really outstanding. The chewy gnocchi, rich sauce, and melty mozzarella are an outstanding combination. This is perfect comfort food!

This is actually quite similar to the way I make bolognese! I love the combo like Edmund said -- it makes for some great flavor

Yum! I love the fact that this recipe calls for a mix of ground beef and ground pork. The combination of the two always seems to produce a better result than just using one or the other. There's a suggestion buried down in the comments about adding some diced green pepper, which is one of my usual additions to dishes like this. Besides the mozzarella cheese, I think I'd also give each serving a good sprinkling of grated Parmesan.

Fresh mozzarella makes this dish look fancy. I love it!
