I'll be honest. I had never thought of using pasta sauce for Mexican cooking, but it does make sense since there are a variety of pasta sauces that I wouldn't necessarily consider Italian-tasting. There are some chunky vegetable sauces that are worth giving a try. Also, when I make this, I think I'll try a mix of ground beef with chorizo. I've been pleased to find good quality chorizo readily available at local stores beside Hispanic markets.
