This dish sounds like a great comfort food for a cold winter night. It does sound like a lot of food for just one couple to have for dinner. I love cheesy baked pasta dishes. To help with SissieSass's question about cottage cheese, I would try to drain the cottage cheese before adding it. That might help!

This sounds like a cheddar version of lasagna that my mom makes, but her cottage cheese layer always made the dish runny. She found out that if she used half ricotta and half cottage cheese that the dish held together and came out in a square instead of sliding across the noodles. Do you have any problems with the runniness in this dish with the sour cream and cream cheese and cottage cheese mix?
