this is a hit around our house, a little cheese and bread crumbs on the top the last few min. of cooking adds a little more flavor

Trying different versions of lasagna is something I love to do in the kitchen. This Amish variation is definitely worth a try. Simple ingredients and an easy assembly/cooking time. What's not to love? The only thing missing is some Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. I also might up the basil and oregano. You can never have too much Parmesan or oregano. For those who don't like cottage cheese, there's a link to a site with suggestions for substitutes. I'm interested in trying the feta cheese idea.
