Is the purpose of microwaving the flour to brown it without cooking it in a pan? I have heard of using this step in cookies before when my daughter made a batch of inside out cookie bars. It did not turn out anything like it was supposed to, but we probably messed something up. I didn't see where the microwaving the flour made a difference so I am confused.
