Magic Eight Bars

Magic Eight Bars

Magic cookie bars, 7 layer bars - they're the same thing. Magic Eight Bars are a slight twist on that childhood favorite cookie bar. First, there are no nuts. So, whether you're allergic or simply don't like them, they're gone. Second, white chocolate chips are added to the mix, giving the bars another delicious layer. When all is said and done, these bars are a lovely combination of chocolate, butterscotch, coconut, and Heath bars.

Wow! Thanks for all the pictures. They made my mouth water for this Magic Eight Bars recipe. This is a really easy recipe to make and the hardest thing about it would probably be the amount of time allowed to have this cool down enough to cut into squares. This is a recipe best saved to make with the house is empty.

It is always fun to learn something new when searching for recipes. In my family home, my mother did not prepare desserts like these so I found this type of recipe when I began baking for my family. Bar recipe soon became a favorite and I didn't know there was a difference either. Thanks for the mini lesson.

I love dessert bar recipes, so I will have to give this recipe a try. Can't wait! I think these look fantastic.

Thank you so much for keeping the nuts out of this recipe. I am sure there is plenty of stuff in this recipe that you will not miss them though. You say to check them after 25 minutes, but I was wondering what consistency were you looking for in this recipe? Should they look like brownies or cake when done? My daughter loves the combination of chips and coconut. I can't wait to try these bars!

Hi SissieSass, below the recipe on the blogger's site, there is a photo of the bars after they've been baked. It looks like, once the top starts to brown, they're done! I hope that helps. - Natalie, Editor of AllFreeCasseroleRecipes
