Hot, sweet, with a hint of spice. This 5-Ingredient Caramel Apple Cobbler is as much pleasing to the taste buds as it is to your busy schedule. Yellow cake mix and apple pie filling are easy shortcuts that make this apple cobbler recipe super simple, while still bringing lots of great flavor. You might not believe that five ingredients can come together to make such a delicious apple dessert, but one bite of this cobbler will reassure you. The best part about this easy apple cobbler is that you don't need to use fresh apples. Using canned pie filling means you can make this caramel apple cobbler any time of the year.

This apple cobbler looks like the perfect fall dessert. You can't go wrong when you combine apples and caramel. Yum!

My mother made this a while back and she said that she loved it, but that it was extremely rich for her and my step dad because they are both diabetic. I was wondering how it would turn out if I backed down the pie filling to one and used some applesauce for the other. Do you think it would still turn out? How much applesauce would you recommend if any?

Hi SissieSass, we haven't tried this recipe so I'm not sure about the applesauce substitution. I would suggest commenting on the recipe post on Julie's blog and seeing what she recommends. - Natalie, Editor of AllFreeCasseroleRecipes

This looks fantastic. I love the idea of using a cake mix as a quick cobbler topping. So easy and delicious!
