This sounds like a hearty meal that my family would like any time of year. The great thing about slow cookers (well, two things), are that they don't heat up the kitchen and they are cooking all day while you are at work. My family will enjoy this with some cornbread.

Made last night. Was very good. I don't care for kidney beans so I used Ranch Style Beans. Gave it a little more flavor. Next time I will try some peppers in it and Jack Pepper cheese for a little zing. Even my picky grandson liked it no left overs.
