Mom's Cottage Cheese Lasagna is an updated version of classic lasagna recipes because it uses cottage and Swiss cheese. Even if you normally avoid making lasagna because it's time-consuming to make, this recipe is definitely worth the effort. Ground beef and Italian sausage create the delectable meat filling. The unique blend of cheeses adds the perfect touch to this special recipe. Unlike many recipes for lasagna, this one isn't weighed down by ricotta cheese. This version is a bit lighter, despite the fact that it is filled with a rich meat sauce and a variety of cheeses.

I have never used cottage cheese when making a lasagne but I have been told it has less calories, it is healthier and tastes the same. Is all this true? I know it would be fewer calories but would it still taste the same? Has anyone tried this and does it taste the same?

There is something about a lasagna that is just so comforting, especially during the cold winter months. It seems to warm you up all over. My aunt used to make a cottage cheese meat sauce lasagna very similar to this when I was growing up, and I loved it. Not sure about the swiss cheese though, but I'm sure it will taste great.

We love cheese at my house, so we will definitely enjoy this lasagna. I can't believe this recipe has cottage cheese, and mozzarella and Swiss cheeses. I have never seen a lasagna recipe with Swiss cheese. We will enjoy this with garlic bread and salad. It will be a Sunday evening meal. Can't wait!
