Apple Cinnamon French Toast Casserole

Apple Cinnamon French Toast Casserole is a comforting breakfast casserole that will warm your heart. The apples are sauteed with butter before they're placed on top of a layer of Texas toast. Ingredients
- 8 slices Texas toast, cubed
- 2 eachs eggs
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 large Granny Smith apple, peeled and chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Place the bread cubes in a bowl or dish. Sprinkle 3 tablespoons granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, and 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg, on the bread.

In a separate bowl, add eggs and milk. Mix.

Pour the egg mixture over the bread, and then lightly toss.

In a pan over medium heat, add butter. Once the butter melts, add in the apples. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon over the apples, and cook for 3 to 5 minutes.

Add the bread mixture into a buttered baking dish, and top it with the apples and butter.

Bake for 35 to 40 minutes.

I love bread puddings. My wife just made one with some Cinnamon Crunch bagels we got from Panera and this recipe sounds delightful and super easy to make. Thank you for the short video showing just how incredibly simple this is to assemble. We'll be sure to give it a try very soon.
