There's nothing better than a freshly made apple dessert is there? This Amish Apple Dumpling Recipe is the perfect dessert to enjoy apples. Homemade dough envelops each apple before they are baked in the oven. The true star of this recipe is the homemade syrup made from brown sugar and cinnamon. Once the dumplings have been assembled, simply pour the syrup in the baking dish and bake them in the oven. The most difficult thing about this apple dessert recipe is waiting for the dumplings to bake in the oven. Serve this Amish recipe with vanilla ice cream for the ultimate indulgence.

Oh Yes this is truly a great Amish recipe! I was taught how to make these about 30 years ago from my husbands Grandma Yoder. I love these Amish Apple Dumplings. This recipe is spot on and this was never a desert, but served as a dinner. Everyone received a large apple dumpling with the sauce over top for dinner and it was more then enough. The Amish used this recipe when times got hard and it has stayed in the family for centuries. I make this recipe often in the fall and serve it with a slice of ham. Thank you so much for sharing this free recipe.
