Growing up, my mom baked everyday.  Each day, we would come home from school, and she would have cookies, cake, or sometimes just homemade pudding.  She just loved to be in the kitchen.  I suppose this is where my love of baking originally comes from.  It took me until I was older and cooking for my own family to really start liking baking and cooking.  But, once I started, I was hooked.

Being a food blogger and a lover of baked treats, I am only on the lookout for new recipes to share with my readers. In one of my many searches, I came across a similar recipe , but, the recipe used store bought/pre packaged cinnamon rolls.  My kids and husband ( and me!) are huge cinnamon roll lovers, so, it was an easy decision to give it a try.

My recipe, however, uses homemade dough, filling and frosting.  It instantly was a hit with my family and I probably wouldn’t change much from the original recipe.

To be honest, I don’t make this recipe too often.  It’s not that it isn’t delicious, but, it is more of a “special occasion” recipe.  We usually enjoy this ooey-gooey-ness on a holiday or if requested, a family member’s birthday.
Since, my mom no longer with us, baking and spending time in the kitchen with my kids is even more special now to me than ever.  It reminds me of special times I spent with her.  In and out of the kitchen.

My wife and I both love cinnamon rolls and this looks like an ideal recipe to try out. Our bread machine is currently buried under other stuff in the kitchen, so I might give it a go with the refrigerated rolls. The layering is making my mouth water just reading the recipe and looking at the photos. This may become a ready go-to breakfast treat.

Ahh I bet this tastes perfect! I have a weakness for cinnamon rolls, and will be sure to try this recipe soon!
