Ginsu has long been known for making quality knives at affordable prices. The Ginsu Chikara Santoku Knife is a well-made and extremely versatile knife. It features a 5" blade, that is perfect for chopping fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients. 



In my opinion, the blade of the knife is what makes it so special. The lack of curvature makes it ideal for chopping onions, peppers, and other vegetables. The blade also comes sharpened to perfection and did not dull after using it all week. 



This is a forged knife so the blade is made from one piece of steel. This gives it even more strength, leverage, and balance. I found I was able to quickly and safely chop onion after onion with uniformity thanks to the build of the knife and sharpness of the blade. Despite the forged build, the knife is still lightweight. 



This Japanese-style santoku knife is a great all-purpose knife. It can handle prepping most ingredients and it can withstand the force of more difficult tasks. If you use a long blade chef's knife, then this shorter santoku knife will be a wonderful complement. You may find, like I did, that the santoku style is even more handy than the traditional chef's knife.
