Bubble-Up Hamburger Casserole

Bubble-Up Hamburger Casserole

Bubble-Up Hamburger Casserole is the casserole version of the beloved American hamburger.

Instead of a bun, this recipe calls for biscuits that will "bubble-up" during the baking process. A ground beef mixture lays on top of the biscuits and the finishing touch is, of course, cheese. This hamburger casserole recipe is very easy to put together, so it can be made during the week.

If you don't feel like making patties and opening up the grill, this casserole is here for you. It has the same components but doesn't require as much work.

Ingredients

  • 1 (16-ounce) tube of refrigerated biscuits
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 cup spinach
  • 8 slice Colby Jack cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Spray a 9 x 13 inch casserole dish with cooking spray.

  3. Cut biscuits in quarters with kitchen shears. Layer them in the casserole dish.

  4. Brown the ground beef. Drain the grease. Add the onion, tomatoes, water, chili powder, and salt. Mix together. Cook for 5 minutes. Add spinach and mix.

  5. Bake for 25 minutes. Layer cheese on top and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
