Julia's Pantry Wild Boar Sweet 'n' Sassy Sauce Mix is the best way to get a taste of North Carolina barbecue no matter where you live! You can add vinegar to the dry mix, or even use it as a rub on your favorite meats. The flavors are balanced with a touch of sweetness and a hint of spice.

I like that you can control some of the flavor profiles in this sauce simply by changing the variety of vinegar added. I went traditional and opted to add apple cider vinegar which is found in many North Carolina sauces. No other ingredients need to be added to the mix.

I paired this sauce with chicken breasts, a common weeknight meal option of mine. I let the chicken marinate overnight and then roasted it. I was happy with the balance of flavors in each bite. The sweet and spicy seasonings did not overpower and instead gave the chicken a deep and nuanced taste.

The sauce can be used in a number of ways once it is made. You can marinate many kinds of meats before throwing them in the oven or on the grill. You can also use the mix dry for a rub or as a seasoning on vegetables. Keep a bag of mix on hand and you will always be ready for a quick and easy dinner.

I enjoyed the slight spiciness of the sauce. I'm not typically a fan of spicy food, but this was subtle and blended well with the hint of sweetness!

I like a little kick in my chicken, and Julia's Pantry Wild Boar Sweet 'n' Sassy does not disappoint. It has a well-balanced blend of sweet and sassy, just as the name states, and really flavors the meat well. Chicken is a fairly blank canvas in terms of flavor, so I really liked that the Julia's took it from bland to grand!

The chicken turned out tangy and spicy. I like my chicken full of flavor, so I was happy!
