The Anolon Vesta Cast Iron Covered 5-Quart Dutch Oven is a kitchen workhorse that will become a staple piece of cookware. This braiser is perfect for making chicken recipes, side dishes, and casseroles. The large cast iron pot comes in two beautiful enameled colors, Paprika Red and Umber.

At first glance, this pot is one of the most aesthetically pleasing pieces of cookware I have seen recently. They offer three vibrant colors of enamel coating, making it one of those pots you don't mind leaving out on the stove for company to see. The black interior complements the colorful exterior perfectly.

No need to transfer your food to serving dish when you are finished cooking, this pot acts as a server, too! The two small handles on the outside of the pot make passing it around the table easy. The lid will help keep your food nice and hot, right at the table.

To say this pot has one or two uses would be a huge understatement. I found myself constantly reaching for it to make my favorite recipes, as well as to heat up leftovers the next day. I love that you can do so without using any nonstick spray or oil. You don't even need to season it before your first use; it has already been done for you.

Since you can start dishes on the stove and finish them in the oven using this pot, it is perfect for casseroles in addition to braised recipes. The pot is actually not just oven safe, but also broiler safe. I used it to make simple chicken dishes, as well as more complicated stews and slow cooked meats. The cast iron design ensures all food heats evenly and is cooked perfectly every time.

The pot comes with a fantastic lid to use while cooking, serving, and storing your food. I particularly love the easy to grab, stainless steel handle.

Cleaning this Anolon Braiser after use is incredibly simple. I found running it under hot water did the trick most of the time. It never needed more than a light scrub.

I would honestly recommend this piece of cookware to anyone I know. It makes cooking simpler for those who aren't great cooks, but it also helps the most experienced cooks make even better dishes.
